What We Do

A Heartiversary is a special celebration of a person's last open heart surgery. Everyone 1 in 100 children is born with Congenital Heart Defects, many of which will require open heart surgery within their first year of life.

We wanted to bring some joy to our community, particularly during this last difficult year when we were all at home, so the Heart Box Project was born.

We send children who are currently at BC Children's Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House at BCCH a "Heart Box" filled with treats and a small gift to bring a bit of joy and comfort during this time.
