What We Do
A Heartiversary is a special celebration of a person's last open heart surgery. Everyone 1 in 100 children is born with Congenital Heart Defects, many of which will require open heart surgery within their first year of life.
We wanted to bring some joy to our community, particularly during this last difficult year when we were all at home, so the Heart Box Project was born.
We surprise Heart Children across British Columbia with a "Heart Box" filled with party supplies, treats and a small gift to commemorate this special occassion.
Some Love From Our Recipients:
“I can't thank you enough for the gorgeous and special box that you so quickly put together [...]! She got it right on her birthday and she was delighted! Thanks for making a girl feel so special. You are making a difference! Sending love.”
"Thank you so much for the absolutely beautiful box of gifts! It was so lovely and heartfelt. Even the packaging of the box and card were very special indeed."
"I just received A's Heartiversary box and I was honestly in tears when I opened it. What a generous and thoughtful gift. I love what you have created with this initiative and I am just so grateful to be on the receiving end of it."
